Knowledge is mightier than Sword. Even, our Prophet Mohammed (SAW) encouraged every fellowman (and women) to acquire knowledge from cradle to grave. He often said to his followers "acquisition of knowledge is binding on all Muslims, both Men and Women".
Though being the Islamic view on women education, it is exceedingly difficult to overcome societal barriers to educate one's daughter, especially when there's societal hindrance. It was exceedingly difficult decision made by father of Saliya S. Bawani, to allow her to continue her studies and pursue her dreams.
To her mischance, she had a setback in her Pre-University Education, as a Science student, with Grace of Almighty Allah and her hard work, he overcame the sat back with a principle that "Failure will never overtake me if my definition to succeed is strong enough" (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam).
All due to the support of her parents, specially of her mother, Mrs. Bilkish Shoaib, she continued her studies and presently is a Research Scholar at Bangalore University.
She is a graduate in Science and completed her post-graduation in same field of Genetics, with distinction. She is recognized very well among her fellow scholars and is highly looked upon as a driving motivational force for others.
