Dr. Afreen Banu, D/O proud parents Mr. Dilawar Ghanchi and Mrs. Zaitun, completed her MBBS in 2014 from Hyderabad following which she did her specialization in Pediatrics (DNB Pediatrics) and Fellowship in Pediatric ICU from Bangalore, India. She also completed her training to be a Simulation trainer in February 2020.

She was honoured with prestigious award for her oral presentation on “Data driven debriefing of the critical care events” in Simulus 5 annual conference of PediSTARs in 2020 where she collaborated with Cerner group of industries to integrate the Artificial Intelligence in Level III Pediatric ICU for providing advanced care in Indian setup. She has presented various papers and posters nationally and internationally (Toronto, Canada).

She has received various awards for being a faculty in SONIC and TIPS workshop and designing the ultrasound curriculum for the novice learners. She has also been a part of editorial board for IPU 2019. She has written the chapter on Status Epilepticus, for the IAP manual book of Pediatric Intensive Care, 2019. She has also contributed articles for JPCC 2019. At her very young age, she was honoured as a faculty in National conference of Pediatric Intensive Care (NCPIC 2019) along with other stalwarts of PICU.

She takes pride to be a part of ‘Memon Community’ and to render her services to her roots, she conducted a two-day health camp for children in ‘Upleta’ in 2019 and was honoured as chief guest by the Upleta memon jamaat. She was also honoured by Halani Memon Jamaat, Bangalore in 2019.

As a Pediatrician and Pediatric Intensivist she continues to provide a good quality of life to the critically ill children in Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bangalore. On personal front, waiting for the Mr. Right. Her goal is to make the advanced technology of healthcare available for the low-income group of India which she plans to do by opening a chain of level III hospitals in future at grass root level for rural population.
