A Memon Who’ve shaped the career of countless students career by Mentoring them and inspiring them to reach out on the higher positions in their professional career.

He was born in Aliabada, Jamnagar District in Gujarat and then grew up in Amla, MP. He went to Saugar University and then passed his BE in Mechanical engineering in year 1964 from Jabalpur University and Joined Bhilai Steel plant the Famous Russian collaboration Steel Plant. He was selected to another overseas company, but his parents didn't allow to go outside India, and he also wanted to be able to improve the education standard of the family and so he decided to stay close to the family.

He wanted to establish an Industry which could provide opportunities for the whole family, but due to the permit and license raj at that time he endured several hardships and setbacks. He still did not give up on his principles of honesty and being of Service to the community.

Later he joined Anjuman Hami-e-Islam as a Superintendent and grew the Institution to have a Polytechnic, an Engineering and a girl’s degree college in Nagpur. Through these educational Institutions he served the community and gave opportunities to so many of them to uplift their lives through education. His belief was that educating one individual not only uplifts that individual but their whole family and the community in general.

He was a trailblazer and opened the field of education for most of Memons. My two brothers and 3 sisters could do Graduation at that time 50 years back.Mr Salim Akbani, Mr Farook Kachchhi and most of his relatives inspired by his Vision and Mission pursued further Education. He loved mentoring and coaching students to reach their highest potential.

Later after retirement he served on the board of a charitable institute "Jamiat Islahul Muslimeen' along with his friends through which they contributed for the medical and educational needs of the muslims in Nagpur. This institute was able to pay for Engineering, medical, dental fees for vetted and deserving students as well as for surgeries for needy patients. His friends Abdul Rashid Sobani, Abdul Qadeer and others have built a mosque in his memory at the Jaripatka Karbrastan in Nagpur.

His both sons are giving their services in US. elder one Mr Shakil is an Engineer working with Google Cloud as lead Regional Manager in California and younger one Dr Yunus is a Pediatric Dental surgeon and has Dental Clinics in Houston, Tx and daughter Shaheena lives in Bilaspur. Their Mom also stays in US.

In continuation of the legacy, the family has created a Foundation " Dada Umar Langha Foundation" through which they offer scholarships to needy students at "Houston Community College" and support the educational aspirations of the kids for pursuing higher education.

May Allah forgive him for any of his shortcomings and and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
